Dorota

Hello, my name is Dorota! I have been actively working as an artist for more then seven years since the graduation from Gerrit Rietveld Academy in 2016. For me art was a second education. I also have a master in Pedagogy with the focus on socio-cultural animation and multicultural education. This is also what brought me to Amsterdam. First time I came here for the Erasmus exchange at University of Amsterdam combined with the master research at Anna Frank house.

Together with Yulia I am a part of an artist duo DAY Collective. Our artistic research involves participatory performances and installations from soft sculptures and intuitive drawings. It manifests the power of consciousness and aims to cultivate spirit. In the participatory performances we apply embodied interactions with people and the environment; these are intimate wordless experiences. Everyone is welcome to join them. We work both with children as well as adults.

In the installations the interrelation between the micro and macro cosmos manifests itself and surprising forms are being channeled. Both in performances as well as in installations, the narrative evolves during the process, from within. It activates the senses, intuition, and imagination. In this way, a new connection with yourself, others, and the environment can be awakened.

Since Novemeber 2022 we have been collaborating with Kleintje kunst what gave us opportunity to bring our art to schools.
